Teeyan is a monsoon festival originating from Punjab in India.

Every year, it is celebrated by women to reunite with loved ones.

Ladies will dress up in their best clothes, visit family and get together with friends.

The festival honouring sisterhood is hosted annually in Gravesend by the not-for-profit Kent Saheli Group.

Members of the Asian charity participate in various activities together from dance and yoga to badminton.

Last month, the group saw hundreds turnout in Fort Gardens for their sold-out Teeyan festivities.

Following a year-on-year success, the group is looking to expand and host its first celebration in Dartford.

Though it will be a ladies-only event, all women are welcome, regardless of age, disability or race.

The celebrations will be supported by Dartford Borough Council and will be a ticketed event.

It will cost £5 per person to attend and tickets are now on sale.
