Fleet chairman Duncan Holt has described Saturday’s visit of Luton as the club’s biggest game of the season, on and off the pitch.

Luton have returned to form and are pushing for promotion back to the Football League and early indications are that they could bring up to 1,800 fans with them.

Members of MyFC have also targeted the game as a members day with extra tickets snapped up, leading to hopes of the season’s best crowd of more than 2,500.

Mr Holt (pictured) said: "Saturday is a really important day for the club. It is fantastic that they’ve won their last couple of games.

"We are over the moon because it means the game will attract a few more of their fans now they are back in the play-off fight.

"With due respect to Oxford, Luton will be the biggest club we have faced and this will be our first opportunity to face them, and they will be up for revenge of course after we won there.

"Hopefully we can get some extra faces along and try to outnumber them. That would be a fantastic day for the club, especially with the money we are losing because of losing the Chester home game."

Manager Liam Daish could get the chance to bring in some defensive cover in the absence of Dean Pooley (knee) and Clint Easton (face) for the foreseeable future.

Mr Holt said: "There are a couple of teams interested in a couple of our younger players. We might release them to free-up some money for Liam to bring in some experienced cover."
