David Arnold has been picked to play in the US Kids Golf European Championship at Gullane

Youngster David Arnold has been selected to play in the US Kids Golf European Championship at Gullane in East Lothian later this month.

The three-day championship is preceded by registration on May 25 and 26 and a visit to the National Museum of Flight to see Concorde.

The tournament is being played over four courses, Luffness New, Gullane, Craigielaw and Kilspindie and David is to play his three rounds on Craigielaw.

Five hundred boys and girls will compete in their own age groups with 55 boys in David’s 12-year-old grouping.

Competitors are coming from every corner of the world to compete in this first ever US Kids European event.

David, who plays off 13, represents his school the Harvey Grammar in Folkestone and recently played in the Shepway Schools’ Challenge coming second to Lewis Kerr (Marsh Academy) in the individual event.

He is also on the Kent Coaching Programme a-10s two years ago.
