Sean Heslop, ex-Folkestone Academy boss: police end 'abuse of trust' investigation

A police investigation against the former executive principal of Folkestone Academy - over claims he abused a position of trust - has ended without charges.

Sean Heslop, who quit his role in May, was embroiled in a police investigation following his arrest on March 31.

But police confirmed he was released without any charges on November 19.

Mr Heslop, who was also executive principal of the Marlowe Academy in Ramsgate, had been granted bail throughout the investigation and had been due to attend a bail hearing on Monday November 30.

Det Insp Ed Ruffle said: “We take all allegations of this nature extremely seriously and our officers conducted a thorough investigation, working closely with the school.

"The decision was taken to release the man without charge.”
