Winch used by firefighters to free car wedged into fuel tanker in Longage Hill, Lyminge.

A car and a fuel tanker became wedged together in an accident in a country lane.

Firefighters had to use a winch to free the car at Longage Hill, Lyminge.

Police had first been called at about 10.20am today.

A Kent Police spokesman said: “No injuries were reported and officers attended to assist with road closure while the vehicle was recovered.”

The road was re-opened just before 12.42pm.

A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a fuel tanker and car that had become wedged. Firefighters used a winch to free the car. No fuel leaks were caused.”
