Householders are being warned to beware of bogus callers who claim to be working for telephone companies.

Callers have been knocking on doors of homes in the Folkestone area and telling residents they need to go inside to check broadband connections.

Trading Standards has received complaints about the callers who are both in their twenties, one male and one female.

The female was about 5ft 3in tall, white, with dark curly hair.

The male was about 6ft tall, black, with dark curly hair and smartly dressed.

They are urging homeowners to always check the identity of callers and not to let unknown callers into their houses.
