Man taken to hospital after house fire

A man was taken to hospital early on Sunday following a fire in a house in Dover.

Fire crews from Dover and Folkestone were called to the house at 4.40am.

The man was said to have been suffering from a broken ankle after jumping from a first floor window, as well as from the effects of breathing in smoke.

Police are investigating the cause of the blaze which caused severe damage to the house.
