Car thief rams Fiat 500 through wall in Dover and smashes into parked cars

A thief stole a Fiat 500 and smashed through a wall before ploughing into parked cars and making a getaway.

A woman was woken moments after the destruction unfolded on her driveway in Folkestone Road, Dover.

In the aftermath, Karen Holmes saw her wall flattened, Skoda damaged and neighbour's black BMW written off, while another parked car had also sustained damage.

Pictures taken moments after the chaos show rubbish strewn across her driveway, with a wheelie bin partially tipped in front of a stationary BMW covered in debris.

Describing how her low partition wall had also been reduced to rubble, she told KentOnline: “It just makes me angry.

“We work hard for what we have and it's damaged or destroyed in a second.

“It destroyed the wall and flung bits of it over the cars."

Ms Holmes was woken up when her neighbour banged on her door after the smash-up shortly after midnight on January 17.

Shortly after the incident was reported to police a Fiat was discovered parked nearby but the driver was nowhere to be seen.

Subsequently, police spoke to the registered owner who said the car had been stolen earlier that evening.

Now, officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward and assist with enquiries.

A police spokesman said: “Officers are investigating following a collision in Dover.

“We were called to Folkestone Road just after midnight on Wednesday, January 17 following reports that a white Fiat 500 had been involved in a collision with a parked vehicle.

“The Fiat was later found in Park Avenue, and there was no driver in the car.

“Following enquiries with the registered owner, it was established the vehicle had been stolen earlier that evening.

“Officers are carrying out enquiries into the incident.”
