A man has been taken to hospital following reports of an armed siege at Dartford Civic Centre today (Tuesday).
Kent Police was called just before 12noon to the building in Home Gardens after a man claimed to have a knife. A police negotiator attended and a 55-year-old is currently undergoing medical assessment.
The civic centre was temporarily closed but was not evacuated. People inside the building were, however, moved to a secure area whilst the matter was resolved.
The centre was reopened at 2.05pm.
