Six arrests after car is badly damaged in Canterbury

Police arrested five people last night and a further man early this morning after a car parked in Old Park Court Canterbury, had its windows smashed and tyres slashed.

The six - from London and Canterbury - were taken into custody for questioning about the criminal damage and possessing offensive weapons.

Police are investigating whether last night’s incident was connected to an assault on Saturday night when a man, aged in his 20s, was hit over the head with a bottle at a party being held at a house in Hudson Road, Canterbury.

He was taken to the QEQM Hospital at Margate to be treated for a head injury.

A 20-year-old man from Canterbury was arrested on suspicion of assault and was questioned and released on bail until January 12.
