Roof fire in property at Petham near Canterbury

Fire crews attended a blaze in the roof of a property at Petham, near Canterbury yesterday evening.

The fire started just before 6pm and was not extinguished until 8.40pm.

Six fire engines and around 30 firefighters were sent to fight the fire in the roof of a property in Stone Street.

Crews wore breathing apparatus and tackled the flames with a combination of high-pressure hoses and fog spikes.

There are no reports of any injuries and Kent Fire and Rescue Service says the cause is thought to be accidental.
