Khan makes quick impression in West Indies

Amjad Khan claimed two wickets in three balls in his first competitive action on England's winter tour to the the West Indies.

The 28-year Kent fast bowler took 2-22 as the Barbados Cricket Association's Presidents X1 struggled to 49-4, replying to England's total of 351-8 declared.

Khan and Ravi Bopara who made 124 were called up from the England Lions trip to New Zealand last week, as cover for injured Andrew Flintoff, but had to endure a 41-hour journey to the Caribbean, involving four flights.

Amjad had Kofi Hurdle caught behind and Rostin Chase held in the slips, two deliveries later, while Bopara did his chances of a test call-up no harm with a near run-a-ball hundred as England dominated the game, warm-up for the Fourth Test which starts later this week.

It's the time second time this winter that Khan has been called up to the senior squad. He was drafted in last November for the re-arranged two tests against India, after the orginal tour was abandoned due to the Mumbai bombings.
