Kentish Gazette launches Stand Up For Our City campaign

Stand up for our city
Stand up for our city

Your hard-hitting Kentish Gazette this week lifts the lid on the seamy side of life in our great Cathedral city.

In two exclusive reports we investigate the rise of begging in city centre streets and reveal how junkies are hiding used syringes in a baby changing facility.

Our reporter Alex Claridge spent time with the police to see how they are tackling these issues and we speak to Porchlight, the city's leading charity for the homeless.

But we also make the case for having pride in Canterbury as we urge readers to stand up for our city.

It follows our exclusive reports in recent weeks on how people are urinating on the doorsteps of city centre homes and scrawling graffiti tags around some of the busiest underpasses and walkways.

The Gazette is now starting a campaign to restore pride in the city called Stand Up For Our City to stop the selfish few from spoiling it for the thousands of residents, as well as tourists who flock to the area every year.
