Herne Bay manager Simon Halsey is ready to risk upsetting his boss by leading the team to another victory.

Bay take on Sittingbourne at Winch’s Field on Saturday looking for their third Ryman League Division 1 South win in a row.

Halsey, pictured, works for Brickies chairman Andy Spice during the week and joked: "There might be a note in my pay packet on Friday saying: ‘Don’t win or else!’

"I might find myself looking for a new day job if we win.

"Seriously, though, it should be a good game. A lot of people thought Sittingbourne would struggle but they’ve made a good start.

"I honestly think we could have nine points out of nine rather than six. We feel comfortable in this league but it’s massively important we keep our feet on the ground and continue to work on every aspect of our game.

"Crowds are up and the bar takings are up, so everything’s good."
