Funding blow to £24m theatre plans

THE show-stopping vision of a Kent theatre may never be built because of a funding shortfall.

Grants Canterbury council hoped to attract towards the £24 million development of the Marlowe Theatre are now unlikely to be forthcoming.

It could mean the council has to settle for a less ambitious scheme or even just a refurbishment of the existing building.
