Bike robbery in Canterbury high street sparks police appeal

Three men stole a bike from a man as he wheeled it through Canterbury high street last night.

The robbers made threats to the victim before demanding he hand over the bike which had a flat tyre.

Following the robbery at about midnight, the men - who are described as white and about 6ft tall - soon ditched the bike nearby.

Police are now calling on anyone who witnessed the robbery or noticed anything suspicious to come forward

Detective Inspector Cara Ferguson said: "In particular there was a report of a taxi driver who was believed to pick up a fare in the area shortly after the incident so we would like to speak to that driver as they could have information which might assist our investigation."

The first man was wearing a white polo shirt and jeans. The second had a white hooded top, while the third was wearing a dark blue jumper and jeans.

The victim was in his 20s.
