Ashford man arrested after clothes stolen from Tommy Hilfiger store at Ashford Designer Outlet

A wanted man has been arrested as part of an investigation into pricey garments being stolen from Ashford Designer Outlet.

Jessie Barton has been charged with the theft of clothes while being wanted for recall to prison.

Mr Barton, of Newton Green in Ashford, was spotted by police officers in Cade Road at about 2.10pm on Tuesday.

He has since been charged with the theft of £752 worth of clothing from the Outlet.

The expensive goods had been taken from the Tommy Hilfiger store on Wednesday, October 19.

The 34-year-old appeared before Folkestone Magistrates' Court yesterday.

Kent Police also tweeted: "The community policing team patrolling South Ashford spotted a male sought in a recent high-value theft investigation.

"He was also wanted on recall to prison. Now under arrest, he will be interviewed, before being returned to continue his sentence at HMP."
