A leisure centre cleaner was sent a letter by police warning her against performing boy racer stunts in the car park where she works.

Zoe Relf, 34, was warned about “wheelspins” and “doughnuts”, after details of her car were taken at Ashford’s Stour Centre.

Miss Relf, of Newenden Close, Stanhope, said: "They have labelled me as a racer. All they had to do was wait and see me come out in my works uniform.

"My car is an unpimped Ford Fiesta. It is a housewife’s car."

The letter says her nine-year-old car was seen with other vehicles at the centre, where police have received a lot of complaints about cars causing a disturbance to people living nearby.

It says action could be taken if her car was used for anti-social behaviour.

It was one of a number of letters to target nuisance drivers.

Miss Relf is now writing to police to complain.

Kent Police say the letters were sent as a response to several complaints.

Sgt Kim Alcott, from Ashford Neighbourhood Police Unit, said vehicle index numbers are recorded by the CCTV monitoring centre.
