Steve Lovell says his Ashford squad will need an overhaul because some players are not up to Ryman League Division 1 South standard.
Following Tuesday’s 5-1 defeat at Worthing – Ashford’s seventh defeat in eight away games this season – Lovell is looking to improve his squad.
He said: "There are a few who are not up to the standard and will be leaving but you need to get people in.
"They're a good bunch, they work hard but one or two have let us down.
"We need to stop the rot. It is going to be a long, hard season for us but there are still 30 games to go."
The defeat means Town have conceded 25 goals in six league games away from home and have a goal difference of minus 20 after just 10 games.
Their form at Homelands has, however, been solid and Town host Dulwich Hamlet on Saturday looking to maintain a run which has seen them win their last three games in all competitions and go undefeated in four.
Lovell said: "We just need to cut out individual errors. We have not been playing that badly, our opponents just seem to take chances whenever they come."
Lovell says 17-year-old Ronnie Dolan has played his way into contention for Saturday after a fine substitute appearance at Worthing, while his son, Mark, and Ryan Norman will also be involved.
